About us

AutoScots is one of the most diverse vehicle clubs in Scotland … driven together and driving forward.

We’re a relaxed group with a common interest in wheels and fun. Our members have a passion for cars classic and modern, bikes, trucks and off-roaders. Buses, too. There’s no age limit for vehicles or members. Activities range from charity fundraisers to club meets, from rallies to drives and nights out. Above all, there are no musts. Join us and be part of the AutoScots family, and make it what you want.

IndianPlatform

We meet at 8pm on the first Monday of every month at the the Indian Platform South Side, 340 Ayr Road, Newton Mearns, Glasgow, G77 6RT. Formerly known as the Malletsheugh Inn and Ivy India, the venue is half a mile from Junction 5 of the M77.

AutoScots FAQs

1. How do I join? Joining us is simple. Complete an entry form, which is available from the secretary or on line, and pay the annual fee, which is currently £10. Some members may subscribe to bodies outwith AutoScots, but such payments are independent of our group.

2. What happens to the money? We spend money on such things as room hire, equipment for shows, and the staging of our annual charity event, West Coast Rally or West Coast Challenge. Accounts are produced each year and copies are available.

3. What are the benefits of membership? By joining, members are welcome to participate in group activities, which include drives, meets, visits to vehicle events and social evenings. There is a depth of technical experience in our ranks which is shared among members. AutoScots card holders benefit from a range of discounts on goods and services, from insurance to parts.

4. How are decisions made in the group? Every member has an equal say in the process. When necessary, decisions are made at our monthly meetings. Occasionally, an extra meeting outwith the schedule may be called, but this is rare. Our purpose is mutual enjoyment so bureaucracy and business are kept to a minimum.
